Students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s conducting department will lead Hebrides Ensemble in a performance of Walton’s Façade. This follows an inspiring week of workshops and rehearsals with Visiting Professor of Conducting, Martyn Brabbins and musicians from Hebrides Ensemble. A trio of narrators from the Vocal Performance, Musical Theatre and Stage and Screen departments join this cross-Conservatoire event.
Adding to the Iberian theme of the afternoon, the concert also features transcriptions of piano works by Albéniz, Debussy, Scarlatti and Turina arranged by the conductors themselves, choreographed and danced by students from the School of Dance, performed by RCS instrumentalists and Hebrides Ensemble side-by-side.
