Ravel’s music is filled with nostalgia, melancholy, elegance and storytelling and the three works here are no exceptions.   The Hebrides Ensemble bring their adventurous flair to this programme featuring the classic showcase for harp, Introduction and Allegro. This work is surrounded by Ravel’s tribute to his fallen compatriots in the First World War in a baroque dance suite style and the children’s fables of Mother Goose both in new arrangements for chamber ensemble.

This concert will be recorded for future broadcast by BBC Radio 3
