Pierrot Lunaire at Lammermuir Festival

North Esk Parish Church , 16 Bridge Street, Musselburgh, EH21 6AG

Hebrides Ensemble marks Schoenberg’s 150th Anniversary with the two great nocturnal classics he gave to the 20th century: the aching beauty of his ‘Transfigured Night’ and his visionary expressionist masterpiece about Pierrot, a lovelorn, moonstruck clown.

For this performance Hebrides Ensemble is joined by the remarkable young Colombian / American soprano Stephanie Lamprea, and the experience is enhanced with specially commissioned paintings by Scottish artist Kirsty Matheson.
