Hebrides Ensemble commissioned composer Peter Longworth to compose a piece for our 100/350/100 concert series of May 2018. In this short film, Peter explains how, like Debussy, he is influenced by the Italian Commedia dell’arte. His piece, ‘Nocturnes and Masquerades’ is based on frescoes of Pulcinella, a central character in Commedia dell’arte, by Italian artist Giandomenico Tiepolo.
